Maths Statistics Learning
In class we have been learning about statistics. We have learned what a histogram is and what it is used for. A histogram records data in groups, it also has no spaces between the bars and numbers instead of words along the x axis.

Persuasive Writing -
Room 9 has started to learn about persuasive writing. On Monday our thoughts were collected. Following are the main points:
Persuasive
Writing- What we thought:
Persuasive writing is when you talk someone into doing
something for you.
Persuasive writing is when you try to convince someone that
your point of view is better.
Persuasive writing is to blackmail someone by making
something sound exciting.
It is when you are trying to change someone’s opinion with
facts that support your argument.
Persuasive writing starts with an introduction and finishes
with a conclusion. You can use a “fish
hook “at the start to grab the reader’s interest.
It contains expression, adjectives and rhetorical questions
It contains proper grammar, descriptive language,
interesting facts which are paragraphed.
It needs to be punctuated correctly
Use facts to make the writing easy to understand.
Each sentence needs to make sense.
It will have several main ideas.
It could contain technical language.
The ideas are ordered.
Which points do you agree with and which ones do you think are not really related to persuasive writing?

Once you have read the article on the site; KiwiKids News, then go to the recall question section and complete this work in your Reading Book.
Would your new word eventually get entered into the Oxford Dictionary?
What would you have to do to ensure that it did become common usage?
